Award Information
For U.S. Scholars who are on Fulbright awards in the South Central Asia region, we would welcome you to come to Sri Lanka on a Fulbright Regional Travel Award. These Regional Travel Grants provide Scholars already in one of the eligible South and Central Asian countries financial support to travel to another SCA country for a 3 to 14 day period.The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) offers the Regional Travel Program for current Fulbright U.S. Scholars in the SCA region. The United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF) is responsible for administering this program.
Grant Benefits
The Regional Travel Program for Fulbright U.S. Scholars:
- Provides travel grants to spend a period of 3 -14 days in another South and Central Asian country during the grant period to participate in professional and academic activities.
- Offers local academic institutions and non-profit organizations, U.S. embassies and consulates, and Fulbright Commissions in SCA the opportunity to benefit from the academic and professional expertise of U.S. Scholars currently in SCA.
Scholars can develop and participate in a variety of activities including lectures, seminars, curriculum development, panel presentations, needs assessments, and conferences. Fulbrighters in the arts may be invited to give master classes or recitals, participate in exhibitions or workshops, or consult with cultural institutions.
Eligibility Requirements and Application Instructions
Regional Travel Awards to Sri Lanka are only available to current Fulbright scholars in the SCA region.
